OVERACTIVE MEDIA UNVEIL ITS NEW 15,000 SQ FT ESPORTS HEADQUARTERS

Impressive new esports hub includes a Red Bull Gaming Studio, Bell Fibe Zone, Player Lounge and Canon Creator Lab

May 7, 2021 (TORONTO, ONTARIO) – Leading global esports organization, OverActive Media (OverActive) released visuals today of its newly-renovated 15,000 square feet headquarters (HQ) in Liberty Village, Toronto. The stunning new hub for gaming, content and team performance will be the new home of OverActive's two Canadian franchises and its front-office staff until the recently-announced 7,000-seat performance venue at Exhibition Place is complete.

With the unveiling of the new space, and as announced yesterday, a new multi-year partnership with Red Bull will see the Red Bull Gaming Studio play a major part of OverActive's continued emphasis on mashup culture – creating content and fan opportunities at the intersection of gaming, sport and music. The partnership will also include product integration, custom content and support for Red Bull gaming events.

“World class organizations require premier partners, and we are grateful for the tremendous support and vision of our partners as we continue to build out the best facilities for our teams and players,” said Alyson Walker, Chief Commercial Officer at OverActive.

The new Bell Fibe Zone will be a top tier esports practice facility fully powered by Bell pure fibre Internet. A leading supporter of Canadian esports and the gaming community, Bell is a proud partner of the Toronto Defiant and Toronto Ultra. With the opening of the new headquarters, the partnership will expand as Bell becomes the official naming sponsor of the training rooms for both franchises.

"Bell fibre is powering our teams and no doubt giving us all a competitive advantage because it offers symmetrical download and upload speeds, low latency, and low packet loss which are huge benefits," noted Logix, Toronto Defiant player.

"Bell is proud to partner with Overactive Media and to support the Toronto Defiant and Toronto Ultra with a state-of-the-art gaming training facility featuring the world’s best Internet technology," said Rizwan Jamal, President of Bell Residential Services. "With the highest symmetrical online access speeds available in Canada, Bell Fibe Internet is the clear choice for serious gamers. With unparalleled bi-directional bandwidth – up to 1.5 Gbps download and 1 Gbps upload – and significant latency and jitter advantages, Fibe will ensure Defiant and Ultra are primed to compete."

OverActive is launching its Player Lounge in the new gaming headquarters which is a brand new space that will create an unrivalled environment for its players to get game-ready and come together to unwind and prepare for upcoming matches.

Canon Canada, Toronto Defiant's Official Streaming Camera Provider will complete the new headquarters with the Canon Creator Lab, which will be the home base for Toronto Defiant content creators, streamers, players, and influencers. OverActive and Canon Canada will create opportunities for visiting and amateur streamers to sign up and use next level streaming cameras with some of the highest quality for online gaming.

Canadian technology and IoT company, Nanoleaf create innovative smart home solutions, and their colour-changing modular light panels have been installed in the Player Lounge and in the HQ entrance. This addition will help to transform OverActive's new space into an exceptional personalized lighting experience.

OverActive’s new brand design and energetic accents have been thoughtfully integrated into the fabric of the new HQ. OverActive’s vision was to create a space that is highly functional and inspiring for OverActive’s teams. The result is the realization of an inclusive space for fans and gamers locally – something that is readily apparent when you step inside the newly designed facility.

Other partner integrations in the new facility include: EPOS headsets which will be used throughout the facility to ensure a high-end audio experience for players; SCUF's Toronto Ultra branded controllers; Bud Light will be providing product in the Player Lounge; and the new Jack Links vending machine will ensure players always have access to protein filled snacks during scrims and on game days.

This new HQ will be the front office and player facility esports hub for all of OverActive's Toronto-based franchises and staff until its new 7,000-seat performance venue opens in 2025.
