TORONTO DEFIANT, TD BANK GROUP INK NEW SPONSORSHIP DEAL

TD becomes official bank of the Toronto Defiant

AUGUST 17, 2020 (Toronto, Canada) — ​ Toronto's Overwatch League franchise, the ​ Toronto Defiant ​ are proud to announce a new sponsorship agreement with TD Bank Group (TD), effective immediately. As part of this agreement, TD will be the official bank of Toronto Defiant. ​ 

This is the first entry by TD into the sponsorship world of esports, and it comes with a commitment to provide strong support for the esport gaming community, Defiant players and their avid fanbase. 

The new deal includes a new community-focused fan profile series, title sponsorship of an online amateur Overwatch tournament this fall, and the presenting sponsorship of Toronto Defiant's upcoming Fan Appreciation Weekend. 

The Toronto Defiant Fan Appreciation Weekend, presented by TD will take place August 20-23, 2020, and will be the first of its kind. This will be a rare jammed-packed fan centric weekend, highlighting the importance and diversity of Defiant fans, and giving thanks to a community of gamers that have showed tremendous support for the franchise in the past two seasons. The weekend will also include a virtual watch party for the Toronto Defiant versus Dallas Fuel match, a community arcade tournament, a unique virtual player meet-and-greet, numerous giveaways, and a few more surprises to be announced. ​
